The carbon tax will cost Canadians 17 cents per litre of gas starting April 1st. If your average fill up is 50 liters per week, that's $8.50 in additional costs, per week ($34/month). And then the Government charges you 5% GST on top of that.

In the midst of an affordability crisis, the carbon tax adds 0.6% to the annual inflation rate yet no greenhouse gas emission targets have been met by this government. It’s not worth the cost.
A report from the Business Council of British Columbia (BCBB) indicates that Canada's economic recovery from the pandemic the weakest amongst OECD countries due to population growth outpacing real GDP growth. A 2% decline in per capita economic growth despite a 1% increase in real GDP.*

Tiff Macklem, the Governor of the Bank of Canada, confirmed in October 2023 that removing the carbon tax would cause a 0.6-point alleviation on inflation, that’s from 3.8% to 3.2%.**
Canada’s national debt now sits at $2.1 trillion. The parliamentary budget officer said our debt servicing cost is going up and will reach $52 billion by the end of 2024, an increase of 45% in two years. That means we’re spending $1 billion per week just to pay interest on the debt.
Canada is spending more on debt than healthcare. Federal health transfer payments are $49 billion/year while the debt interest payment is $52 billion.***
Military spending is half the amount of the debt interest and the daycare program costs $5.6 billion.
Wouldn’t you rather have your taxpayer money spent on meaningful programs instead of on interest?
