70% of Canadians oppose the carbon tax.

The carbon tax will cost Canadians 17 cents per litre of gas starting April 1st. If your average fill up is 50 liters per week, that's $8.50 in additional costs, per week ($34/month). And then the Government charges you 5% GST on top of that.

“It shows they really don’t care about the impact it is having on Canadian families struggling with the cost of living.” Saskatchewan MLA, Minister Dustin Duncan.

We picketed in front of Lib MP Terry Beech’s office on March 18. We were met with countless honks of support.

In the midst of an affordability crisis, the carbon tax adds 0.6% to the annual inflation rate yet no greenhouse gas emission targets have been met by this government. It’s not worth the cost.

A report from the Business Council of British Columbia (BCBB) indicates that Canada's economic recovery from the pandemic the weakest amongst OECD countries due to population growth outpacing real GDP growth. A 2% decline in per capita economic growth despite a 1% increase in real GDP.*

Tiff Macklem, the Governor of the Bank of Canada, confirmed in October 2023 that removing the carbon tax would cause a 0.6-point alleviation on inflation, that’s from 3.8% to 3.2%.**

Canada’s national debt now sits at $2.1 trillion. The parliamentary budget officer said our debt servicing cost is going up and will reach $52 billion by the end of 2024, an increase of 45% in two years. That means we’re spending $1 billion per week just to pay interest on the debt.

Canada is spending more on debt than healthcare. Federal health transfer payments are $49 billion/year while the debt interest payment is $52 billion.***

Military spending is half the amount of the debt interest and the daycare program costs $5.6 billion.

Wouldn’t you rather have your taxpayer money spent on meaningful programs instead of on interest?
